Most of our products show as available straight through checkout. For larger or special-order items — full packs of timber, bulk bags of aggregate, items marked POA — please give us a quick call on 020 8801 9090 or email info@sjwackett.co.uk. We’ll confirm what’s in the yard and lead times on anything we need to bring in.
We accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay at checkout. Payment is taken in full at the point of order.
Trade customers with an established account can pay on invoice subject to their account terms — please contact us to set this up.
We deliver across North London, Greater London, East London and the surrounding home counties using our own fleet of vehicles. Next-day delivery is available on most orders placed before noon, subject to stock holding and vehicle availability. All deliveries are made to the kerbside.
Full details of zones, expected timings and what to expect on delivery day are on our Delivery & Collection page.
Yes — our yard at 5 Shelbourne Road, London, N17 0JX is open six days a week and we’re set up to load straight into vans, trailers, pickups and roof racks.
Opening hours: Mon–Fri 7:00am–4:30pm, Sat 8:00am–12:30pm, closed Sundays.

Our prices are shown ex VAT by default because the majority of our customers are trade buyers reclaiming VAT. You can switch to inc VAT view at any time using the toggle in the page header — the price you see will update across every product, basket and checkout page.
VAT is added at the standard UK rate at checkout where applicable.
A quick translation of the trade terminology you’ll see on our product pages:
- PAR — Planed All Round. Timber that’s been smoothed on all four faces. Nominal sizes are larger than the finished size (e.g. 25x100mm PAR has a finished size of about 20x95mm).
- C16 / C24 — structural strength grades. C24 is higher graded and used for load-bearing applications like joists, rafters and studwork.
- Regularised — timber planed to a uniform depth on two faces — standard for carcassing.
- FSC / PEFC — international certifications that the timber comes from sustainably managed forests. All our timber is FSC or PEFC certified with full chain-of-custody documentation.
- UC3, UC4 — pressure-treatment use classes. UC3 is above ground, UC4 is for in-ground or in-water contact (fence posts, deck substructures).
- MDF MR — Moisture Resistant MDF, suitable for areas with some humidity such as bathrooms or kitchens.
Yes — we’re happy to cut timber, sheet materials and mouldings to your specified sizes. For cut-to-size requests, the easiest way is to give us a call on 020 8801 9090 or pop in to the yard with your cutting list. We’ll quote on the cuts and confirm timing.
Please note that cut-to-size items are non-returnable once cut to your specification.
Yes — we welcome new trade customers. We supply local authorities, housing associations, principal contractors, joinery firms, carpenters, landscaping companies and many independent tradespeople across London.
To set up a trade account, please get in touch with a brief introduction to your business and we’ll send across the account application form. Once approved, you’ll get access to trade pricing and (subject to credit checks) the option to pay on invoice.
POA stands for "Price On Application". A product shows as POA when it’s a special-order item, a custom-finish item, or sized/priced based on the specific job — rather than having a single fixed retail price.
Just click "Contact for quote" on the product page, or call us on 020 8801 9090, and we’ll come back to you with a price tailored to what you need.
For most of our timber, cladding, decking and moulding products, you’re very welcome to come and view full lengths in our yard before ordering. We can usually provide small offcuts for finish/colour reference too.
For composite decking and painted/specialist products, manufacturers often provide official sample packs — give us a call and we’ll point you in the right direction.
If you change your mind or order the wrong item, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to put it right.
- Consumer customers have a statutory 14-day right to cancel for most items.
- Cut-to-size, special-order and custom-treated items are non-returnable.
- Trade customers can return unused, full-pack standard stock items at our discretion (subject to a restocking charge).
- Faulty or wrongly-described goods are covered by your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Full details on our Refunds & Returns page.
There’s no minimum order value to place an order online or by phone. Delivery is charged based on your postcode and the size of the order — for very small orders to outer zones, the delivery charge may be more than the goods, in which case collection from the yard is often the better option.
